Our achievements

To create a progressive society in this era of globalization, women's rights, empowerment and creating a work-friendly environment are working to establish women's development and rights under the main stream of society through Sunamganj Sadar, Sunamganj, Office of Essential Upazila Women Affairs Officer. Due to government and non-governmental women-friendly initiatives, the government of Bangladesh has already achieved the potential for making progress in the development of women development and empowerment. To achieve Millennium Development Goal, it is considered as a global model. The progress of women's society is playing an important role in it. The Department of Women Affairs has been implementing various programs to bring about balanced development of the country through the integration of half of the total population of women in the main stream of development.

Possible major achievements of fiscal year 2017-18

Under Social Security Closures Program

* Providing VGD assistance to 2133 the distressed women

* Providing maternity allowance to 963 poor and pregnant mothers

* 86 people have been fined 5,70,000 rupees (rotating) loans.

* Investigations by the investigation of cases related to 05 women and child abuse cases

* Celebrate National Day All-Day

* To facilitate distribution of grants to the 04 women society

* 08 child marriage prevention

* In 5 categories, 5 women were honored by selecting the best winners

* 01 Voluntary Women's Association registration

 Apart from this, various initiatives have been taken to stop child marriage. For example, all unions have been declared child marriage winners in the year 2016-2017.
